Index 364 Hipponax
Titre Vanessa Casato, Sense and Reference in Hipponax.
Publication QUCC 163 = N.S., 134 (2023) 2, pp. 69-83.
Résumé Looks at the way in which Hipponax problematizes the relation between language and referent and begins to outline what might be thought of as a mischieviousness in relation to linguistic referentiality. His distinctly heightened language creates an impression of fictionality, even while his poetry conveys a kind of "realism" in the way that we feel assaulted by an unfiltered reality, spattered with bodily fluids.
