Résumé | Presents three unpublished clay sealings (s.v. bullae, cretulae) discovered during excavations at the central Sicilian site of Morgantina. Each preserves the impressions of papyrus documents, making them the first direct, material evidence for the use of papyrus as a medium of writing at Morgantina. The sealings also shed light on aspects of life in the ancient city that have gone otherwise unattested in the material record, such as the maintenance of personal archives. |
